Garry Holland
Owner, European English Language School
I had my own very successful langauge school in the UK in Bournemouth for 8.5 years, before I moved out to Spain to continue teaching.
I now have EELS and teach high intensive business courses on a 1-1 basis mainly for a duration of 2-4 weeks. Also we do general English courses as well.
My life experience has been in the civil engineering section and while in the armed forces with the Royal Air Forces I worked as a mechanical engineer.
I have also coached junior rugby and help coach the senior team over here in Spain.
My main mottos in life are "Always look on the bright side of life" and "Don't worry be happy" as life is far too short. In the classroom it is "KIS" keep it simple. I also believe that teach should be interesting and enjoyable.
Teaching and rugby are my 2 passions in life.
I had my own language school before moving to Spain, where I continued with my profession and started up a smaller school half an hour south of Alicante, just outside Guardamar.
The school in England grew from a one classroom place with 10 students to 4 classrooms and nearly 100 students in 5 months, and things just went from there with an eight classroom school when I sold it. Over here in Spain I have kept it small with just myself at the moment. A lot less stressful, but just as enjoyable.
The schools record was a 92% pass rate in all Cambridge Exams, business and general, and with myself a 96% pass rate in general exams and 100% in business exams and teaching training courses.
I design the courses around the individual students needs, or group of students on high intensive 2 to 4 week courses.
We try and use authentic material as much as possible to link with the course books.
